LAPIS LAZULI

Lapis lazuli polished pebble from Afghanistan. This deposit in Badakhshan province is the most oldest and most experienced on the border with Pakistan. Group of silicates,cut for jewelery or luxury decorative objects. In Egypt the stone was associated with the cult of the goddess Isis. Dimensions 26x22 mm. Weight 25 gr.

Lapis lazuli crystals on matrix of Badakhshan in Afghanistan. It consists of blue lazurite, golden pyrite and white calcite. In the Middle Ages and the Renaissance it was the dye basic ultramarine blue. Chemically it is part of group silicates, containing sulfur, sodium and aluminum. 1 main crystal cubic and three other on the other face but they are not full, on a matrix of calcite. Sample size 70x50x20 mm. Weight 74 gr.    

Lapis lazuli on matrix from Sar e Sang in Afghanistan. In Egypt it was the stone of the goddess Isis. It consists of lazurite blue, white calcite and golden pyrite. Sample aesthetic blue cubic crystal is detached from the matrix of white calcite. Sample size 50x55x30 mm. Weight of lapis lazuli on matrix 82 gr. The crystal measures 17x26x13 mm.

Lapis lazuli on matrix from Sar-e-sang in Afghanistan. Already used in Asia Minor, Egypt and Greece from ancient civilizations, today it is appreciated by classic jewelry or modern. It belongs to the group of silicates and contains sulfur, sodium and aluminum. It crystallizes in the cubic system. Sample size 55x50x30 mm. Weight 146 gr.
