LAPIS LAZULI

Lapis lazuli polished pebble from Afghanistan. This deposit in Badakhshan province is the most oldest and most experienced on the border with Pakistan. Group of silicates,cut for jewelery or luxury decorative objects. In Egypt the stone was associated with the cult of the goddess Isis. Dimensions 26x22 mm. Weight 25 gr.

Lapis lazuli polished pebble from Sar e Sang in Afghanistan. This deposit is the oldest and best known. Lapis lazuli is cut into cabochon or decorative luxury since the ancient civilizations. In the Middle Ages it was the component of ultramarine blue paint used. Dimensions 27x22 mm. Weight 34 gr.
